Who we help
Our services are offered to people who are faced with challenges due to mobility restrictions.
This includes people who are fully or partially paralysed, wheelchair users, people with prosthetics, non-functioning or impaired limbs, muscle or joint disorders, age-related mobility decline, and neurological mobility conditions.

How we started
Hi! My my name is Jayson Mitchell. I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. I was born with a walking disability which is natural for
me, but not always easy for others. I started Umphakati Disability Network to help and
support all people with disabilities - no matter their location, ethnicity
or circumstances.
We at Umphakati Disability Network NPO are on a mission to
change and provide sustainability for disabled people around South
Africa.
Umphakati Disability Network NPO has registered our own
Disability Employment Agency called DisableRECRUIT. This
agency is the first in South Africa, as it focuses solely on all People
with Disabilities.

Skills development & training centers
At Umphakati Disability Network, we support people with disabilities by offering innovative training centers. Using interactive technology, we create a fun and engaging learning experience.
job creation &
job placement centres
Umphakati’s disableRECRUIT agency aims to provide employment for the disabled community in need. Our mission is to build a network reaching people wherever they are.
community food and hygiene distribution centres
Our centres aim to support families in need by providing essential resources and empowering communities to establish food farms, fostering self-reliance and sustainable growth.
community health and wellness centres

Umphakathi Disability Network is on a mission to empower and unite disabled individuals across South Africa.
Our goal is to thoroughly assess the areas where support is needed and strategically implement structures to address these gaps. This approach will be rolled out in stages and tailored to different regions.We will collaborate closely with local and rural municipalities to ensure seamless coordination, working towards our vision of a South Africa where every disabled person receives the care and support they deserve.
